We have a range of Indigenous native soaps - Bunya Nut, Gumby Gumby, Lemon Myrtle, Riberry, Kakadu Plum and Quandong Soap. The seed in the Bunya cone is a delicious and nutritious food with minerals of potassium and magnesium - what is good for the health of the inside of our bodies must be good for the health of our skin.

Bunya Nut (Araucaria bidwillii) - The cultural connection of the Bunya pine to Aboriginal Australians is very powerful. The Bunya Mountains in Southeast Qld used to host massive gatherings of Aboriginal groups. People came to visit Bunya pines and feasted on the nuts in their abundant cones. Tribal groups would travel for hundreds of kilometres to come for gatherings, do tribal marriages, dispute differences and trade. A lot of the groups would camp in the foothills and then travel up the mountain for ceremonies and corroborees.

Anti-bacterial activity of bunya nut extract - Studies indicate that bunya nut extract exhibits anti-bacterial activity and hence has the potential to be used as food additives to slow down food spoilage caused by bacteria and also to inhibit food borne illnesses.  Using this natural additive can therefore do away with the need for adding chemical preservatives. Furthermore, the antibacterial properties of bunya nut extract may also have promise in the medical field as they can be used as antibiotic or anti-microbial agents.

This is a natural, detergent free handmade soap. It is good for you and good for the environment too!  All of the ingredients are sustainable and ethically sourced so you can feel good about using this soap!
